FIELD: rail vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and serves to convert kinetic energy of car wagons separation on sorting hills into electric energy. Valve-inductor electromechanical converter contains salient-pole stator with single-phase concentrated winding wound on it. Supply of power to the coil is carried out from a semiconductor converter operating on signals from a wheel position sensor. Stator does not bear additional windings of the magnetising field.
EFFECT: simplified design of braking device and increased ratio of brake torque to weight of device.
