FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: use in the field of electrical engineering for data transmission along power lines, in particular for remote control of electric energy consumers by modulation of supply voltage. Method comprises determining modulation value in positive half-period of supply voltage, which receives zero value or single value corresponding to allowable deviation of supply voltage from nominal value, and additionally determining modulation value in negative half-period of supply voltage, which takes zero value or unit value corresponding to allowable deviation from supply voltage from nominal value, note here that logic zero signal transmission is judged by identical modulation values in adjacent half-periods of supply voltage, and transmission of logical unit is determined by modulation value change in next half-period relative to previous one. To implement the proposed method, a device may be used, which comprises series-mounted power supply modulation unit and demodulation unit, structurally configured to transmit data in accordance with the declared operations of the method.
