FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for producing low-etherified pectins, which exhibit high sorption activity. Method of producing low-etherified pectin involves hydrolysis of raw material containing pectin in the presence of caustic soda with concentration of 4.5-7.5 g per liter, at temperature of 19-24°C with constant stirring during 20-24 hours. Then solution is settled for 20-24 hours, after which solution is acidified with hydrochloric acid while stirring to pH 3, and released precipitate is separated from solution by squeezing, after that, at least twice washed with water while stirring and precipitate is separated by squeezing. Then the precipitate is diluted with water and pre-frozen at -20…-30°C, then subjected to freeze drying in vacuum from 10 to 50 Pa for 20-24 hours with subsequent drying at pressure 0.1 mbar for at least 8 hours.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at improvement of quality and sorption properties of low-etherified pectin.
