FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly to roller bearings. Roller is intended to provide radial contact interaction of external and internal rings of bearing receiving operating load, and represents a body of revolution, the generatrix of which forms the roller end face, its lateral surface and their interface surface. In known designs of roller on its contact surfaces near annular lines of joint of side surface and surfaces of coupling angle of inclination of tangent to generatrix of roller varies along it continuously. Curvature of the roller generatrix at the transition point from its side surface to the conjugation surface varies abruptly, which causes abrupt rise of contact pressure near its edges and, accordingly, limits fatigue service life of the bearing. Disclosed roller has a generatrix with continuous inclination angle and curvature there along. Numerical simulation of considered contact pressures has shown that use of such roller profile lines allows to significantly reduce the level of maximum contact pressures in them.
EFFECT: technical result is higher fatigue life of rolling bearings.
