METHODS FOR PURIFICATION OF CHRONIC WOUNDS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61K38/48 A61K47/26 A61K47/36 A61P17/02

Abstract RU 2742331 C1

FIELD: medicine; pharmaceuticals.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods and compositions for cleaning wounds. Method of wound cleaning involves topical application of a therapeutically effective amount of a cleaning composition according to the scheme to the wound in the subject in need of the above treatment, including up to ten applications for a period of time to four weeks, wherein the cleansing composition is left in contact with the wound point for at least four hours for each application. Cleansing composition contains: (a) a dried or powdered composition containing a mixture of proteolytic enzymes, obtained from bromelain and containing bromelain from stem (EC 3.4.22.32) and ananain (EC 3.4.22.31), a water-soluble gelling agent which is a natural polysaccharide, selected from a group consisting of galactomannan, glucomannan and combinations thereof, an anti-aggregation agent and a pH-regulating agent; and (b) water, wherein prior to use, composition (a) is mixed with water (b) to obtain a cleaning composition, which is a homogeneous hydrogel with a viscosity in range of 2,000,000 to 8,500,000 centipoise (cP), measured by means of absolute viscometer, and pH in range from 6.0 to 8.0. Amount of proteins in the cleansing composition varies from 0.5 to 5.5 % (w/w) of the total weight of the cleansing composition.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides complete cleansing of the scab on the chronic wounds, in a short period of time providing sufficient release of proteolytic enzymes from the hydrogel to the wound point in the absence of essentially noticeable damages of healthy tissues surrounding the wound when applying the composition to the wound several times.
