FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, namely to an agricultural tool with seed furrow closure sensor. Agricultural implement includes a furrow cutting unit, a furrow closure unit and a furrow closure sensor. Furrow closure sensor is adapted to be mounted on an agricultural implement to determine if the seed furrow is sufficiently covered with soil to ensure good seed-to-soil contact. Furrow closure sensor can also detect the amount of soil compaction over the seed within the seed furrow. The furrow closure sensor can be made, inter alia, in the form of a seed compactor, from which the pulling wire extends. When the open seed furrow and the pull wire are covered with soil, the tooling measures or determines whether the seed furrow is adequately filled with soil by measuring the amount of force required to pull the wire through the soil, or by measuring the amount of pull, pull or pull on the wire, or by measuring the magnitude of the soil pressure acting on the wire. Furrow closure sensor can represent other sensors for soil characteristics determination.
EFFECT: improved quality of filling the furrow with seeds and thereby improving germination.
