FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, more precisely to switching technology and can be used in the designs of high-current high-voltage vacuum arc-extinguishing chambers with travel of arcing contacts of more than 40 mm for voltage classes of more than 35 kV. The screen system for the high-voltage vacuum arc-extinguishing chamber is located around the zone where the arcing contacts are located and consists of four (but not limited to it) screens made in the form of rotary bodies: central, two adjacent and additional. The generatrices of the adjacent screens have a stepped shape, and the adjacent screens cover the arcing contacts, forming annular gaps S1 and S2 between the contact and the corresponding screen. The central shield covers adjacent shields forming a minimum annular gap S3 with them. The additional screen is made in form of an axisymmetric shell-type part, located inside the central screen and galvanically connected to it. All screens of the screen system do not have galvanic contact with arcing contacts, and adjacent screens and the central screen are soldered between sections of the dielectric housing. The width of the annular gaps between the end surfaces of adjacent screens, the width of the annular gaps between the adjacent screens and the side surfaces of the arcing contacts, the minimum width of the annular gaps between the central and adjacent screens, as well as the distance between the arcing contacts must satisfy the conditions S≈2/3⋅d; S1≈S2≈S3≈0,5⋅d.

EFFECT: increased reliability of the breaking capacity of the high-voltage vacuum arc-extinguishing chamber.
