SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for combating water erosion on slopes, in particular to methods for detaining surface runoff. The method consists in creating a water-retaining trench, made horizontally across the terrain, with a water-retaining earthen rampart and a water-retaining screen located in it. The trench is filled with inorganic filler, which is a plastic sphere in the form of a ball, having through holes and filled with a filter load of Agroperlite in the ratio of 2/3 of the volume of the plastic sphere having 8 through holes with a diameter of less than 5 mm, arranged in pairs and coaxially.

EFFECT: invention provides effective retention of surface runoff, a significant reduction in soil flushing, a reduction in erosion processes, and the passage of water through the filtration material helps to clean the water flow from suspended particles and biogens, preventing them from entering the water body.
