FIELD: catalytic reactors.
SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to a catalytic reactor with a radial flow of hydrocarbon feedstock and a method for catalytic reforming of feedstock, in particular gasoline. The reactor contains a feed device, a device for diverting a reaction effluent stream, a reaction zone containing a catalyst bed enclosed in an outer, essentially cylindrical shell in the form of a catalytic module elongated along the vertical axis (AX) and bounded by the outer and inner walls permeable for the feedstock and the reaction effluent stream, and the first and second side walls impermeable to the feedstock, a support, a device for collecting the reaction effluent stream, elongated along the axis (AX), communicating with the outer or inner wall of the module, and an annular zone located at the same level, as the module, outside the reaction zone. When the reactor contains a single catalytic module, the reactor contains an empty space located outside the reaction zone between the first and second side walls of the module and extending into the annular zone, when the reactor contains a plurality of catalytic modules, the reactor contains an empty space located outside the reaction zone between the first the side wall of the first module and the second side wall of the second module adjacent to the first module and extending into the annular zone. In this case, in the empty space there is a continuous strip passing along the axis (AX) and located so that it is located next to the collection device.
EFFECT: operation of a catalytic reactor with an increased ratio of the flow rate of the raw material to be processed to the weight of the catalyst.
