FIELD: rocket engine manufacturing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of rocket engine manufacturing and can be used to create super-heavy launch vehicles (SH LV). A method for operation of the propulsion system of the first stage of a super-heavy launch vehicle is proposed, in which the normal operation of six liquid-propellant rocket engines with redundancy in flight at a thrust mode of 80% of the nominal mode of each engine is provided, and in case of failure of one of the engines, the propulsion system is operated due transfer of the remaining engines to the nominal thrust mode.
EFFECT: invention provides the total thrust margin of the first stage propulsion system in relation to the mass of the super-heavy launch vehicle.
