FIELD: railroad transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to apparatuses for measuring the parameters of a rail track and can be used as a portable tool for measuring the rail track width and measuring the elevation of one rail relative to the other. The track measuring gauge is comprised of a track measuring mechanism including movable and fixed stops for interaction with the rails, mounted on the frame, an indication system, and a mechanism for measuring the elevation of one rail over the other. The frame has a retractable telescopic part, wherein one stop is fixed to the frame and the other stop is fixed to the retractable telescopic part of the frame. A laser range finder fixed on the end of the frame opposing the telescopic part is used as an apparatus for measuring the rail track and the elevation of one rail relative to the other. The track gauge is measured through the hollow telescopic and main parts of the frame.
EFFECT: simplicity of design, accuracy of measurement, elimination of personnel errors in the process of reading the measurement results, convenience of use, and ease of transportation are achieved.
