FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the area of agriculture, particularly to grassland feed production. The method involves underseeding perennial grass to an old-age stand. After harvesting, to underseed the fifteenth year perennial grass, an Aitchison Grassfarmer grassland seeder of a summer seeding period is used for 16 days between July 15 and July 31 in a regular way with row spacing of 15 cm. The seeding rate of awnless brome is 10 kg/ha at 100% seed germination capacity. Mineral fertilizers are simultaneously applied at a dose of N₆₀P₆₀K₆₀ kg/ha of the active substance without additional sod tilling, wherein the sod within the first year of life at the beginning of October reaches a height of 15 to 20 cm in the tillering phase of grass sward for the winter period providing mowing ripeness within the second year of underseeding the perennial grass in the flowering phase.

EFFECT: method allows to underseed perennial grass, awnless brome, to old-age degraded stand of fifteenth year hayfields with inundative irrigation under cryolithic zone conditions.
