FIELD: weaponry.
SUBSTANCE: automatic weapon with a free breechblock contains a movable chamber, which is a bushing located in the breech of the barrel and freely moving along the axis of the barrel bore. At the time of the shot, the powder gases through the bottom of the sleeve press on the bolt and it begins to roll back. After the shot, the movable chamber rolls back together with the sleeve and "accompanies" the sleeve until the pressure in the barrel drops, preventing excess pressure from deforming it. The joint rollback continues until the bullet leaves the bore and the pressure in it decreases. After the chamber is rolled back by 1/6 - 1/2 the length of the case, it stops and returns back under the influence of a spring. The shutter with the spent sleeve continues to roll back until it is extracted.
EFFECT: reducing the mass of the free shutter.
