FIELD: glazing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the production of multicomponent automotive glazing, preferably roof glazing. The method for the production of multicomponent automotive glazing, including glass, an elastomeric seal and a metal insert filled with an elastomeric seal, includes stages at which: the edge of glass and the metal insert are inserted into a sealing mold that forms a sealed cavity around the edge of glass; the sealed cavity covering the edge of glass and the metal insert is filled, pumping a sealing compound containing a compound of polypropylene (hereinafter – PP)/thermoplastic elastomer (hereinafter – TPE) in a molten state; the sealing compound is cooled to form an elastomeric seal, in which the metal insert is embedded; the elastomeric seal, in which the metal insert is embedded, is removed from the mold, the specified PP/TPE compound contains from 30 to 80 wt.%, preferably from 40 to 75 wt.%, in particular from 45 to 70 wt.%, of polypropylene (PP), the metal insert over the entire surface, which should come into contact with the sealing compound, is coated with polypropylene.
EFFECT: improvement of the adhesion between the TPE seal and the insert by using inserts pre-coated with a layer of polypropylene.
