SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a portable, accumulator-powered hydraulic unit (2) for hydraulic rescue tools (1), in particular for expanding or cutting tools, as well as a rescue tool equipped therewith. The hydraulic unit (2) includes at least one hydraulic pump (18), a hydraulic tank (25), a balancing apparatus (26) for a hydraulic fluid, a manually serviced hydraulic distribution valve (28), an electromechanical interface (15) to provide, if necessary, connection and disconnection of at least one accumulator(16), a hydromechanical interface (4) for connecting a hydraulic tool (3), and an engine (17) driven by the electric power from the accumulator (16) for driving the hydraulic pump (18). The electric engine (17) therein is formed by an engine (19) with a disk rotor, the axial length (22) whereof extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the output shaft (21) thereof is shorter than the outer diameter (22) thereof.
