FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering. A synchronous machine with a common excitation system when operating in the generator/motor mode is presented, containing: a housing with bearing shields, a rotor with a shaft, a stator with a main winding installed in the housing, a rotor of the synchronous machine with a main rotor with a winding mounted on a shaft, an exciter stator with a winding mounted on a bearing shield of the housing, an exciter rotor with a winding having a magnetic connection with the stator with a winding, a rectifier mounted on the exciter rotor, rectifying the alternating voltage of the exciter rotor winding into a constant voltage to provide an excitation current to the winding of the main rotor of the synchronous machine. The synchronous machine contains an additional winding of the main stator along the third harmonic and/or a combination of additional windings along the first and third harmonics, which provides a boost of the excitation current of the synchronous machine when rising and dumping the load and reducing the time of transients.
EFFECT: improvement in performance, an improvement in starting characteristics in the engine mode, an increase in reliability, a reduction in size and weight.
