SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry, in particular to the process of electrorefining of silver in the production of high purity silver, as well as platinum and palladium. The method includes dissolving the original silver-containing anode raw material in a nitric acid solution with the formation of a silver electrolyte and electrorefining of silver, sorption extraction of platinum and palladium from the silver electrolyte using a sorbent, which is a copolymer of vinylpyridine and divinylbenzene, and desorption of the saturated sorbent with an ammonia solution. The process of sorption extraction of platinum and palladium from a solution of a silver electrolyte is carried out in parallel with the process of electrorefining of silver by circulating the formed silver electrolyte through a layer of a stationary sorbent at a rate of 1-15 KO/h with the return of the electrolyte obtained as a result of the sorption extraction of platinum and palladium in the process of electrorefining of silver. The saturation of the sorbent is carried out until a predetermined critical value of the palladium content in the silver electrolyte is fixed.

EFFECT: increased productivity of the process of obtaining high-purity cathode silver by increasing the current density of the electrorefining process and expanding the range of permissible contents of platinum and palladium in the anode raw materials.
