SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular to tubular regenerators of gas pumping units (GPU). In the method for heat recovery of exhaust gases, the cyclic air is directed into Z-shaped heat exchange tubes of the tube bundle, the supply of cyclic air is carried out through the upper branches of the Z-shaped tube bundle, and it is taken away at the outlet through the lower branches, the air in the tube bundles is moved along a Z-shaped trajectory with two-way or four-way modes of movement of the cyclic air in the tube bundle, the exhaust off gas for uniform heating of the tube bundle is divided into several fan flows and directed into the inter-tube space transversely to the tube bundle, Z-cross heat exchange is provided between the cyclic air in the pipes and the exhaust gases in the inter-tube space through the walls of the heat exchange pipes of the tube bundle.
EFFECT: method is implemented in the device in the form of a frame-box housing of a regenerator unit consisting of heat exchange modules that are made of a metal rigid frame, it has the shape of a box section of a bent profile, heat exchange modules are equipped with bypass air ducts and equipped with diffuser-confusor boxes for exhaust gases, while a fan separator of the exhaust gas flow is installed in the diffuser box.
