SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, in particular to DC traction motors. The insulation of the armature winding of a DC locomotive traction motor consists of the slotted part of the armature, the conductive part of the armature winding, turn, case and cover insulation. This design provides for the placement of elastic insulation, made of a material like a tape of perforated organosilicon rubber, between the current-carrying part of the armature winding and its turn insulation, rigidly fixed on one side with the outer surface of the current-carrying part of the armature winding, and on the other with the inner side of the turn insulation.

EFFECT: increasing the durability of the insulation of the armature winding of the locomotive traction DC motor.
