FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for producing simple glycolic ethers obtained from a reaction of ethylene oxide and butanol, including stages of: (a) obtaining a cubic mixture of a diethylene glycol ether column containing simple triethylene glycol ether, simple tetraethylene glycol ether and potassium hydroxide as a catalyst; (b) separating the cubic mixture of the column in a desorption column to a steam head flow of simple triethylene glycol ether and a liquid cubic flow; and (c) separating the liquid cubic mixture in an evaporator to a residue containing from 80 to 90% of simple tetraethylene glycol ether and the head flow from the evaporator containing at least 60% of simple tetraethylene glycol ether, while percent ratios are expressed by weight of simple ethylene glycol butyl ether.
EFFECT: proposed method allows for extracting the suitable amount of simple tetraethylene glycol ether.
