FIELD: building.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to petroleum refining and building and can be used in civil engineering, as well as in construction and repair of roads, in particular, to a method for continuous production of a polymer bitumen binder (PBB) and to a unit for implementation thereof. The method comprises the following stages: raw materials including bitumen and plasticisers thereof are continuously fed into a static mixer; the raw materials are mixed; the temperature of the resulting soft base is maintained within 180 to 185°C; the soft base, as well as a modifier, constituting a granulate of styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) and a crosslinker - a sulphur-based additive in the form of granules or powder - are continuously fed into the mixing container, wherein continuous supply of all components of the mixture without pre-mixing is ensured, and the volume of each component is dosed individually; the soft base, SBS granulate, and the crosslinker are continuously mixed by means of a mixer in the mixing container; the resulting mixture is then fed to a colloid mill by means of a dosing pump, wherein the SBS granulate is crushed. Wherein the crushing of granules and the uniformity of the PBB mixture are achieved in a single pass through the colloid mill. The PBB mixture is then directed for maturation in a container with mixers while maintaining the temperature within the range of 180 to 185 °C. The unit comprises: a bitumen supply and mixing system with a viscosity monitoring system, including pipelines for supplying raw materials including bitumen and plasticisers thereof, with control valves and adjusting flowmeters, a static mixer, a viscometer; a heat exchanger; a PBB production unit including a mixing container equipped with a heating system, a mixing set with a shaft and blades, and an inlet for the soft base – mixture of bitumen and plasticisers, gravimetric dosing systems for SBS and the sulphur-based crosslinker additive, containing screw or vacuum supply systems feeding the SBS granulate and the sulphur-based crosslinker additive into conical silos equipped with a weighing system on strain gages, a processor and a controller, a dosing pump with a frequency converter, a colloid mill, a maturation container equipped with mixers; a control system.
EFFECT: increase in the quality of PBB, increase in the productivity, and reduction in energy consumption during production of PBB.
