FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of receiving signals transmitted by amplitude shift keying (ASK). To this end, for the current coordinate value on the time axis of the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) matrix, root-mean-square deviations of its frequency values are calculated. Tripled value of the calculated root-mean-square deviations of the frequency values is then compared with the maximum STFT values for the current coordinate value on the time axis, which are called the current maximum value. Assigning a unit value to all matrix values for the current coordinate value on the time axis, if its current maximum value exceeds triple value of its root-mean-square deviations calculated for the current coordinate value on the time axis. Zero value is assigned to all values of the matrix for the current value of the coordinate on the time axis, if its current maximum value does not exceed three times the value of its root-mean-square deviation.
EFFECT: enabling demodulation of ASK signals under conditions of fading in a receiving channel by normalizing values of the STFT matrix independently for each current coordinate value on the time axis relative to its current maximum value.
