FIELD: multilayer polymer materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to multilayer polymer materials for use in food and medical industries and relates to a multilayer structure for biocompatible barrier packaging. Multilayer structure includes an alternating set of layers of polymers A and B or polymer mixtures AC and BD, having the sequence -A-[BA-]n-or AC-[BD-AC-]n, where n ranges from 4 to 36, wherein the layer thickness for layers A or AC and layers B or BD is less than 3 mcm, where A and B are thermoplastic polymers, and C and D are thermoplastic elastomers, at least a portion of the monomer forming blocks of polymer A, B or A and B are taken from renewable resources, wherein the thermoplastic polymer B has functional barrier properties, wherein the amount of thermoplastic elastomers C and D in polymer mixtures AC and BD, in each, ranges from 3 to 45 wt. %, and polymer B and elastomer D are substantially immiscible.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a multi-purpose packaging multilayer structure showing excellent mechanical and barrier properties at low total thickness, which is environmentally safe.
