SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering and, in particular, to braking devices of automatic action, braking, including unbalanced mechanisms, braking of inertial masses of mechanisms and braking with balanced masses, when a drive engine is switched off, for example, in the instrument making of radar antennas, telescopic devices, equipment used in film and television filming taking into account design loads. An automatic brake includes a case, input and output shafts, contains a hub, a leash with a pusher on one or two sides, spring-loaded balls or rollers. The automatic brake can be used with completely mechanical drives, as well as with other types of drives.

EFFECT: creation of an automatic brake of immediate action of a completely mechanical design for braking, when lifting and lowering unbalanced mechanisms, and braking inertial mechanisms that occur, when the drive engine is switched off, as well as balanced inertial mechanisms and mechanisms that are not affected by magnetic fields of braking, for example, angle guidance mechanisms, radar antennas, telescopic mechanisms used in devices for film and television filming.
