METHOD FOR PRE-LAUNCH ZERO-GRAVITY INERTIAL SEPARATION OF GAS INCLUSIONS IN THE LIQUID COMPONENT OF FUEL OF THE ORBITAL UNIT (VARIANTS) Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC F02K9/42 B01D45/12 B64G1/28

Abstract RU 2775946 C1

FIELD: rocket engineering.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to rocket and space engineering and can be used in design and operation of orbital unit with a liquid rocket propulsion system (LRPS), especially with multiple launch of the cruise engine (CE) in the course of an extended flight of the orbital unit (OU) in zero gravity. The method for pre-launch zero-gravity inertial separation of gas inclusions in the liquid component of fuel of the orbital unit (variant 1) with its spacecraft, cruise engine, fuel tank, and propulsion system for stabilisation, orientation and launch support, involves creating a separating acceleration at the outlet of the fuel tank for the separation time, wherein with the centre of mass of the orbital unit being located above the top of the fuel tank, in order to create the above separating acceleration, prior to starting the cruise engine, a programmed separating rotation of the orbital unit is performed relative to the transverse axis of inertia thereof, with the angular rate of rotation selected from the condition where ω is the angular rate of rotation; g is the separating acceleration; H is the height of the fuel tank; and h is the distance to the centre of mass. Described is a method for pre-launch zero-gravity inertial separation of gas inclusions in the liquid component of fuel of the orbital unit with the centre of mass of the orbital unit being located below the top of the fuel tank.

EFFECT: multiple reduction in the fuel consumption of the propulsion system for stabilisation, orientation, and launch support for creating pre-launch thrust and reducing disturbances in the set flight trajectory of the OU.
