METHOD FOR INSULATION OF ABSORPTION ZONES WHEN DRILLING WELLS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC E21B33/138

Abstract RU 2778122 C1

FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to the oil and gas industry and is intended for insulation work in absorption zones when drilling wells. The method for insulation of absorption zones during well drilling includes stopping drilling after opening the absorption zone, which prevents the further deepening of the well, pumping into the absorption zone of a colmataging composition in the form of a bridging solution with colmataging fillers, taking into account the intensity of absorption by a pump with increased throughput. As a pump with increased throughput, an ATN 70/12 automotive bridging pump is used. Fillers with particle sizes of 91-100 mm, such as wood chips, rubber chips, crushed rubber, cord fiber and their combinations are used as colmataging fillers. As a bridging solution, a solution with a viscosity of 501-4000 MPa·s is used in direct dependence on the permeability of the absorption zone, and the colmataging composition is injected in one portion until at least the permissible injection pressure for drilling is reached through a drilling sleeve with a diameter of 100 mm. Thick clay mortar, polymer mortar, cement mortar and their combinations are used as a bridging solution.

EFFECT: reduction in the number of technological operations and a reduction in the time for carrying out insulation work.
