FIELD: rocket science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rocket science and concerns a structure of a rocket engine operating on bulk solid fuel. A rocket propulsion unit containing a combustion chamber, a nozzle, and solid fuel, according to the invention, contains a hopper for solid bulk fuel with a bottom, which is installed with the possibility of axial movement relatively to a shell of the hopper, and on which a working chamber of the rocket engine is installed, connected to the hopper by means of a sluice supply mechanism and equipped with heat protection in the form of tapes passed through its cavity, connected to a tape rewinding mechanism installed on a cut of the nozzle, wherein the shell of the hopper is formed by ring-shaped sections, which intersect with the above-mentioned heat-protection tapes applied to them from the inner side of the hopper, located along generatrix of the shell of the hopper.
EFFECT: invention provides reduction in weight and dimensional characteristics of an engine, control of traction, as well as starting and turning off the engine in flight.
