FIELD: nuclear-physical methods for research of gas wells, estimating gas saturation of halitized reservoirs the pore space of which contains halite (salt) along with gas.
SUBSTANCE: according to the claimed method for the reliability of the estimation of the reservoirs’ gas saturation, the neutron fluxes are measured with 2TDT device: Jsp ad, Jlp ad, porosity function calculation and calculation of the damping decrements of the thermal neutron flux density: SigSPad, SigLPad in physical well models (PM) places in a water-saturated reservoir simulator composed of limestone or quartzite with fresh water with various known hydrogen content (Wad) filling the pores. For each of these PM palette dependencies (PD) are build: Wad – F(Kp)TDT ad and PD: SigSPad, SigLPad, - Σad (known values of the thermal neutron absorbtion cross section in the reservoir), on the basis of which a consolidated database of PD is created. The PD are used to go from measured values: F(Kp)TDT ad, SigSPad, SigLPad to the geological parameters of the studied formation: - Wf and Σf according to the applicable formulas. Then using Wf and Σf. On the basis of the given petrophysical dependences gas saturation coefficients and collector halitization are calculated, %.
EFFECT: increasing the reliability of the gas saturation assessment of these reservoirs based on the results of measurements in wells using two-probe pulsed neutron-neutron logging 2TDT for thermal neutrons.
