FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to methods for chemical-thermal treatment of alloy steel parts, and can be used in mechanical engineering for surface hardening of machine parts, including parts operating in friction pairs, gears and rotors of screw pumps and engines. The method includes placing the part in a working chamber, activating the surface of the part before nitriding, supplying a working saturating medium to the chamber, heating the part to the nitriding temperature and holding at this temperature until the required thickness of the nitrided layer is formed. At the same time, the activation of the surface of the part before nitriding is carried out in two stages, at the first stage, the formation of the surface layer of the part with an ultrafine-grained structure is carried out, and then at the second stage of activation, high-energy ion-implantation treatment of the surface of the part with nitrogen ions is carried out at an ion energy that ensures the formation in the surface layer of the part to the depth of nitriding of radiation defects of the crystal structure, providing an equal process of nitrogen diffusion both inside the metal grains and along their boundaries.
EFFECT: increasing the productivity and quality of the nitriding process, as well as increasing the wear resistance of the nitrided layer of alloy steel parts.
