SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology, specifically to compositions with controllable release of neuroprotective polypeptide; it can be used in medicine for the treatment or relief of at least one symptom of a disease associated with the central nervous system (hereinafter – CNS), where the disease associated with CNS is selected from a group consisting of Parkinson’s disease (PD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), Alzheimer’s disease (AD), multiple system atrophy, Huntington’s disease, dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), mixed dementia, frontotemporal dementia, or a combination thereof. The proposed treatment method includes the use of a composition with controllable release, which contains a microsphere including a core with neuroprotective polypeptide selected from GLP-1, exendin-4, or their therapeutically effective analogues and biodegradable polymer, as well as a coating layer consisting of basic amino acids, polypeptides, and organic nitrogen-containing compounds, which covers the core.

EFFECT: invention allows for improvement of the delivery of neuroprotective polypeptide through the blood-brain barrier, controlling its release from microspheres and reducing initial release.
