FIELD: metal working.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal working and may be used in engineering and aerospace engineering when manufacturing W-shaped parts from sheet billets. A billet pre-bending is performed by forming the central part, bendable peripheral areas and radius areas. The resulting billet is finally bent by applying normal and tangential forces to produce a W-shaped profile. Pre-bending is performed by forming the central part of V-shaped with flat flanges and a central angle. The angle is 2-3° less than the W-shaped profile central angle value.
EFFECT: invention provides for reducing the bending radius.
