FIELD: accelerator technology.
SUBSTANCE: devices for inductive excitation of resonant systems of cyclotrons. The device contains a communication loop and a U-shaped copper plate. The communication loop is located between the side parts of the U-shaped plate and is oriented parallel to its side parts and is fully placed inside the vacuum chamber of the cyclotron, with one end fixed on the central conductor of the coaxial line connector of the high-frequency power supply system, and with the other end on its outer conductor. The device provides the ability to control the input resistance of the cyclotron resonant system by reducing the effective area of the communication loop by shielding part of the loop with a U-shaped plate. The effective area of the loop is regulated by moving the U-shaped plate relative to the loop along the axis of the coaxial line of the high-frequency power supply system.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of regulation of the connection of the cyclotron resonant system with the high-frequency power supply system and the simplification of the cyclotron operation.
