SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for determining the parameters of a vehicle, designed to ensure the control and safety of traffic. The sensor for determining the number of wheels on the vehicle axle is a transmission line in the form of a cable made of a piezopolymer extruded onto a multiwire core, with a sheath of high-density polyethylene, located in a metal case with a diameter of 6 mm, the free end of which is insulated, and the other end is connected to a coaxial cable to connect to a reader. In this case, the sensor is located in a copper case, rolled out by rolls to a flat state. The way to install the sensor for determining the number of wheels is to integrate it into the roadway in a strobe using mounting brackets and fill it with a compound. At the same time, the strobe is made with a depth of 25-30 mm, a width of 19-23 mm, the staples are installed in increments of 100-150 mm.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of measuring the number of vehicle wheels, as well as providing the possibility of simple and convenient installation of the sensor in the roadway, which does not adversely affect the strength of the road surface.
