FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions concerns the determination of human pain sensitivity for the selection of effective analgesic methods and medicamentous and non-drug means in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, as well as injuries accompanied by disturbances of somatosensory functions. An adequate pain-causing irritation is applied to the investigated surface of human tissues with an alternating current with a frequency of 380–900 Hz. The current is increased until the sensations corresponding to the determined pain threshold (PB) and pain endurance level (UVB) occur. When thresholds occur, the subject presses the signal button, after which the testing current is instantly reset to zero. The amplitude of the irritating current is increased exponentially. The current indicators corresponding to the PB and UVB arising in the subject are recorded. Autonomic responses are recorded by photoplethysmogram (PPG) and electroencephalogram (EEG) before and after pain exposure. The method is carried out using a device that contains a power supply 2 connected via connector 1 to an external power supply, electrodes, a control microcontroller 3, a current stabilizer 4, an EEG recording unit 5, a PPG recording unit 6, an input, control and indication unit 12, a USB converter UART 11, signal button 13, connector 7 for connecting signal button 13, connector 8 for connecting irritating electrodes 14, connector 9 for connecting electrode 15, recording EEG, and connector 10 for connecting PPG sensor 16.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of measuring the irritating factor is achieved in the form of an assessment of the electric current passing through the tissue, at which one or another sensory threshold is reached, which would exclude and/or minimize the influence of artifacts arising during the study.
