FIELD: rocket engineering.
SUBSTANCE: low-thrust engine nozzle assembly. The nozzle assembly includes, among other things, a nozzle containing a throat. The nozzle also includes the ball portion of a ball joint. In addition, the assembly contains a vehicle that includes the socket part of the ball joint. The nozzle is installed on the vehicle, and the ball part at least partially enters the socket part. The flow controller is located adjacent to the throat and is configured to control the flow of fluid through the throat. The flow controller is attached to the nozzle upstream of the throat. The drive is attached to the nozzle and is made with the possibility of selective rotation of the nozzle by means of a ball joint around the first axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. A rocket and a method for deflecting the thrust vector are also disclosed.
EFFECT: invention provides improved flow control and improved weight and size.
