FIELD: refrigeration engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device for protecting against hydraulic shock of a refrigeration piston compressor contains a sensor for the presence of liquid in the flow in front of the main and protective suction lines, a solenoid valve on the main suction line, a solenoid valve on the protective suction line, and a liquid separator. A check valve is installed on the suction protection line from the liquid separator to the compressor. The liquid separator is equipped with a built-in heat exchanger. Behind the reciprocating compressor there is a safety discharge line that connects to the inlet of the liquid separator heat exchanger. A solenoid valve is installed on the protective discharge line from the piston compressor to the inlet of the liquid separator heat exchanger. The outlet from the liquid separator heat exchanger is connected to the condensed refrigerant supply line to the pipeline downstream of the condenser. The liquid separator heat exchanger ensures condensation of a portion of the refrigerant in parallel with the condenser.
EFFECT: ensuring continuous and safe operation of a refrigeration piston compressor regardless of the presence of liquid refrigerant in the suction line of the piston compressor.
