SUBSTANCE: method for cutting holes in pipelines under pressure of liquids or gases, used to connect branches in existing oil and gas pipelines without stopping the supply of medium through them. The technical objective of the present invention is to simplify the design, reduce weight and size characteristics, expand production capabilities and automate the device. The device for cutting holes in a pipeline under medium pressure contains a housing with two ring electric motors coaxially installed in it, the rotor of the first of which is connected to a hollow shaft mounted outside the spindle, while the hollow shaft is connected to the spindle through a sliding keyed connection, and the rotor of the second - with a hollow sleeve installed outside the hollow shaft, a lead screw connected to the hollow sleeve and a nut connected to the spindle, as well as a stuffing box with a means of sealing the spindle and channels for supplying the working medium and releasing pressure with locking elements, a cutting tool mounted on a spindle, including a central drill with elements for capturing and holding the cut pipe fragment and an annular drill, and an electronic motor control unit.

EFFECT: device contains a new set of essential features and makes it possible to simplify the design, reduce weight and size characteristics, expand production capabilities and automate the work process.
