A pickup for an electric guitar consists of coils and a flat permanent magnet, characterized in that it comprises two series-connected coils, mounted one above the other on a hollow frame and separated from each other by a horizontal partition, inside the frame along each of the coils there is a flat core, wherein the cores are made of the same height, a flat permanent magnet oriented in the horizontal plane is mounted between the cores, the cavity inside the frame for placing the cores and magnet in it is shifted from the centre to one of the edges configured for amplifying frequencies in different ranges by shifting the electromagnetic field of the coils along strings when rotating the pickup 180 degrees relative to the vertical axis.

EFFECT: improved sound pickup.
