SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of using infusions of a multicomponent collection of medicinal plants for rinsing the mouth for the treatment of mucositis after radiation therapy for cancer patients. A method of using infusions of a multicomponent collection of medicinal plants for rinsing the oral cavity for the treatment of mucositis after radiation therapy of cancer patients, includes the stages at which: an initial examination is carried out before the course of remote gamma therapy, if any, the number and size of erosive elements of the oral mucosa are recorded; an anamnesis of the disease is generated, and the condition of the oral mucosa is determined; an examination after 2 weeks 3–10 days is carried out, as soon as signs of the disease appear after gamma therapy; an examination of the mucous membrane of the cheeks, lips, vestibule of the mouth, and oral cavity, including such characteristics as: color, swelling, moisture, pathological elements: the appearance or increase in the number and size of erosive elements of the oral mucosa, the appearance or increase in their pain on palpation, amount of plaque according to CTCAE classification is carried out; then a bag of herbal powder, in which a single dose of powder is 3 g, is poured with a glass of boiling water — 250 ml and used as an infusion for rinsing half a glass warm before and after meals, holding it in the mouth for 1–2 minutes, with the remainder of the infusion containing the powder of plants is topped up with boiling water to the volume of a glass and infused until the next use, and the herbal powder for rinsing consists of a collection of medicinal plants for preparing an infusion used daily, which is a powder of crushed plant materials of the following recipe, per 150 g: 10 g of birch chaga mushroom, 10 g of flowers, fireweed leaves, 10 g of calendula flowers, 10 g of tansy flowers, 10 g of chamomile flowers, 10 g of plantain leaf, 10 g of lingonberry leaf, 10 g of birch leaf, 10 g of calamus root, 10 g of licorice root, 10 g of burdock root, 10 g of yarrow herb, 10 g of mint herb, 10 g of string herb, 10 g of celandine herb, while the powder from the collection of dried medicinal plants is obtained by grinding to particles passing through a 0.5 mm sieve, while the specified infusion is used daily, for 1–2 months, 3 g per day.
EFFECT: above method is effective for the treatment of mucositis after radiation therapy in cancer patients, significantly reduces damage to the mucous membranes, eliminates microbial contamination, inflammation and pain, increasing the quality of life of patients.
