SUBSTANCE: invention relates namely to packers for hermetically sealing wellbore intervals in a cased or open well. The thrust packer includes a hollow barrel of variable diameter with sealing bushings, support elements, a telescopic drive, and a thrust unit. The packer barrel is made with an increased outer diameter in the middle part by a length equal to the length of the lower and upper parts. The sealing bushings are placed in the transport position on the upper or lower part with the ability to move along the barrel under axial load from the telescopic drive. The upper and lower parts of the barrel have an equal diameter, equal to the internal diameter of the sealing bushings. The radial thickness of the bushings is selected equal to the gap between the outer diameter of the middle part of the barrel and the inner diameter of the pipe string. The sealing bushings are made of elastic materials with a hardness of the end bushings of 85...95 according to the Shore scale. Medium bushings with hardness of 60...70 according to the Shore scale. The end bushings serve as supporting elements. The telescopic drive is made double, placed on the upper and lower parts of the packer barrel and contains couplings for connecting the upper drive to the pipe string, and the lower drive to the thrust unit.
