FIELD: pulse technology.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method is for generating nanosecond pulses by inductive energy accumulators on the load, in which a reverse direction current is applied to the current flowing through the internal electrode of a short-circuited long line using a conversion unit, while the current in the inductive storage device does not change. The thickness, resistivity and geometric dimensions of the external electrode of the short-circuited long line are selected based on the condition that for the time of increase of the reverse current tn the condition tn < tdiff, where tdiff is the time of current diffusion along the external electrode of the short-circuited long line and the condition tn>>τ, τ being travel time of an electromagnetic wave along a short-circuited long line, are met Next, the current from the current conversion unit is interrupted by the switch, and the current interruption voltage will appear on the load and the input of the short-circuited long line.
EFFECT: effective formation of a high-power nanosecond pulse using an inductive accumulator (IA) on high-resistance loads, both in single pulse mode and in pulse repetition mode, and minimization of energy and high stability of pulse parameters on the load.
