SUBSTANCE: method for determining the position of a radio tag in a room. In the method, the direction of movement of the radio tag is determined by means of a sensor located on the border of two rooms; data from the sensor is transmitted to the data processing device; by means of an RFID reader, a moving RFID tag is read, while the RFID reader generates radio frequency radiation continuously or upon crossing the border between two rooms where the sensor is located; data from the RFID reader is transferred to the data processing device; in the data processing device, joint processing of data from the sensor and from the RFID tag reader is carried out, during which the location of the RFID tag in the room is determined based on data on the direction of movement from one room to another room received from the sensor, and data on the RFID tag identifier received from the RFID reader.

EFFECT: improved accuracy of determining the location of a radio tag in a room.
