FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to create compact sources of electricity with a long service life based on the energy of radioactive decay of tritium. A method for producing tritium-labelled graphene oxide involves obtaining an aqueous suspension of graphene oxide and applying the resulting suspension to the inner surface of the walls of a reaction vessel. Water is removed by freeze drying until an anhydrous film is obtained on the walls of the reaction vessel, followed by evacuation, the walls of the vessel are cooled to a temperature of 78±1 K with liquid nitrogen. Tritium gas is introduced into the vessel to a pressure of 0.5±0.1 Pa and initiate the reaction of tritium with graphene oxide by heating a tungsten wire located along the central axis of a cylindrical reaction vessel with electric current to 2000±50 K. The labelled graphene oxide is then recovered. It is also proposed to use tritium-labelled graphene oxide obtained by the proposed method as a component of a nuclear battery.
EFFECT: ability to increase specific radioactivity of tritium-labelled graphene oxide while reducing consumption of tritium gas.
