FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: application of water-alcohol extract with concentration of 75% of dry residue of rhizome and roots or stem and leaves of great burnet — Sanguisorba officinalis L., family Rosaceae — as a growth-stimulating agent for tomatoes by three-time spraying with a water-alcohol solution of vegetative tomato plants during flowering of the first, second and third cluster in concentration of 30–50 mg/l with a consumption rate of the working solution of 300 l/ha, wherein the aqueous-alcoholic extract with concentration of 75% of the dry residue is obtained by extraction of the finely ground sample with 75% ethyl alcohol at ratio of 1:5 with subsequent addition of a double amount by volume of 75% ethyl alcohol and holding the obtained solution for 5–6 days at temperature of 8–10 °C, settled liquid is drained from precipitate, filtered and alcohol is partially distilled from transparent filtrate, after distillation of alcohol, an equal volume of 2% aqueous suspension of talc is added to the still residue, mixed, centrifuged, the solvent is distilled off in a vacuum.
EFFECT: invention allows realizing the possibility of using a water-alcohol extract of rhizomes and roots or grass (stem with leaves) of great burnet as a growth-stimulating agent for tomatoes.
