FIELD: foundry production.
SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing castings from high-strength cast iron with nodular graphite involves overheating the melt in a furnace to 1540-1570°C, holding for 15-20 minutes with the furnace turned off, flushing the slag from the melt mirror, releasing the melt into the ladle, carrying out spheroidizing modification, after which the slag is flushed, pouring the cast iron into the pouring ladle and pouring into the mold. Spheroidizing modification is carried out in a ladle, the height of which is 1.5-1.7 times greater than the diameter of its base. A spheroidizing modifier is preliminarily placed in the pocket of the bottom part of the bucket. Cast iron is poured into the pouring ladle after completion of the spheroidizing modification for faster cooling. Graphitizing inserts comprising silicon are preliminarily installed in the gating system of the casting mold. Overheating the melt in the melting furnace above the melting point, holding it and pouring it into a pouring ladle, which provides a high cooling rate of the melt after spheroidizing modification, contribute to a more uniform casting structure.
EFFECT: increased strength of the casting.
