FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engineering and geological surveys in construction, namely to determination of characteristics of thermophysical and deformation properties of binary composite (BC) "sand-granules of foamed polystyrene" based on laboratory research results. Disclosed is a method for determining characteristics of thermophysical and deformation properties of BC "sand-granules of foamed polystyrene" using an artificial neural network, which consists in successive determination of density and moisture content of sample BC, mean square diameter (equivalent diameter) of sand particles, which is part of BC, vertical load BC, effective thermal conductivity and volume fraction of foamed polystyrene granules in BC, loading of these data into trained artificial neural network, which on their basis calculates characteristics of thermophysical and deformation properties of BC "sand-granules of foamed polystyrene".
EFFECT: proposed invention enables to provide higher versatility and accuracy of determining characteristics of its thermophysical and deformation properties based on results of laboratory studies of “sand-granules of foamed polystyrene” BC.
