FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to explosives. Ammonium nitrate for making granulite is divided into ammonium nitrate of low, medium, and high density in terms of density of its structure in range from 0.75 to 0.9 g/cm3. Low-density ammonium nitrate density range has a lower density limit of 0.75 g/cm3. High density range has an upper density limit of 0.9 g/cm3. Average density range is in the range between low and upper densities. In each density range, ammonium nitrate is powdered with a powder dye in a colour different from the colour of ammonium nitrate in the other density range.
EFFECT: possibility of controlling quality energy characteristics of granulites by ranking ammonium nitrate by its density for use depending on strength of rock or differentiated location in well of rock formations of different hardness.
