SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, namely to sericulture, and can be used in year-round mass cultivation of domestic silk moth for production of cocoons, as well as for production of biomass of domestic silk moth caterpillars. For carrying out year-round feeding of domestic silk moth, is used an artificial nutrient medium containing the following ratio of components, wt. %: mulberry leaf powder – 18.84–21.91, corn flour – 3.65–5.58, whole wheat flour – 9.75–11.94, β-sitosterol – 0.11–0.12, ascorbic acid – 0.73–0.75, B vitamins – 0.07–0.08, propionic acid – 0.31-0.32, sorbic acid – 0.055–0.057, antibiotic florfenicol – 0.0037–0.0038, distilled water – the rest. Process of preparing the artificial nutrient medium for the year-round feeding of the domestic silk moth is as follows. Dry components are mixed till homogeneous mass. Dissolve in distilled water β-sitosterol, B vitamins, organic acids and antibiotic. Mixture of dry components is mixed with distilled water at ratio of 1:6 to 1:9 to a paste-like consistency; the obtained mass is sterilized in a microwave oven at power 800–900 W for 12.5 minutes. Hot mass is kneaded, cooled to room temperature, packed in polyethylene film and stored in refrigerator at temperature 2–4 °C.

EFFECT: invention provides increased viability and improved productive and reproductive indices during year-round cultivation of domestic silk moth.
