FIELD: fortification construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field fortifications erected during engineering equipment of defensive positions and troop concentration areas, specifically to a dugout for individual protection of a soldier from plunging fire. Dugout is made in the form of fast-erected earthen shelter (FEES) 1 with protective coating 2 against plunging fire (PCPF). Root system of trees (RST) 16 is used as PCPF 2. In clay soil under RST 16 there is a soil recess with formation of individual casemate 3 of temporary shelter (CTS) of soldier. CTS 3 is equipped with vertical manhole-vestibule 4. Cavity of manhole-vestibule 4 is made adjacent to the cavity of CTS 3 with formation of seat-stool 9 in the lower part of manhole-vestibule 4 at the inlet of CTS 3 cavity. Upper edge of manhole-tambour 4 is installed at the level of the ground surface and is equipped with sliding camouflage cover (SCC) 5. SCC 5 is made with possibility of formation between its detachable parts of a sliding viewing slot (SVS) – vents 8 for air access and for discharge through it portable means surveillance and warning equipment (SWE).

EFFECT: dugout has high reliability of protection against detection and hitting by plunging fire.
