METHOD OF TREATING ASCOSPHEROSIS IN HONEY BEES Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A01K51/00 

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular to veterinary science, to methods of preventing and treating bee colonies affected by ascospherosis, as well as to beekeeping. Method of treating ascospherosis in honey bees involves irrigation with nystatin, for which from water with sodium chloride NaCl content of 0.9% activated water – anolyte with pH 3–3.5 – is preliminarily obtained in an electroactivator. Sugar is poured into the obtained water in amount of 1:5, stirred to obtain a solution in the form of a liquid sugar syrup and nystatin is dissolved in it at rate of 1 million units of nystatin in 100 ml of the solution. Additionally, the solution is added with ascorbic acid in amount of 1.0 g/l, and irrigation of honeycombs and inner surface of beehive is carried out three times with interval of 5 days in dose of 10 ml, containing 100 thousand units of nystatin, per frame with affected brood.

EFFECT: increased resistance of bee colonies to ascospherosis due to the effect of ascorbic acid and improvement of the physiological state of the organism of bees as a result of the destructive action of nystatin and anolyte on the causative agent of the disease, fungus Ascosphaera apis.
